Every timeframe shows a different resolution of the same market. The daily chart may show a clean uptrend while the 15-minute chart shows a sharp sell-off — both are true. Multi-timeframe (MTF) analysis stacks these views so your trade idea is consistent with the bigger picture instead of fighting it.
A simple three-tier framework
- Higher timeframe (for example D1): defines the bias — up, down or ranging — and the major levels.
- Middle timeframe (H4/H1): locates the setup: a pullback to support within the daily uptrend, a range boundary, a structure break.
- Lower timeframe (M15/M5): refines entry timing and lets you place a tighter, structure-based stop.
