Common Elements of a Quote
- Ticker symbol: the short letter code used to identify a specific listed company.
- Last price: the price at which the most recent trade occurred.
- Change and percent change: how much the price has moved compared to the prior closing price.
- Volume: the number of shares traded over a given period, often the current trading day.
- Bid and ask: the current highest price buyers are offering and the lowest price sellers are asking.
- Day's range and 52-week range: the highest and lowest prices reached over the current session and over the past year.
