Premium And Discount Pricing Zones
A 1-minute lesson from the MarketPro academy, one of 22 in smart money concepts.
Premium and discount zones give traders a framework for judging whether price is "expensive" or "cheap" relative to a recent trading range, before deciding where to look for entries. Take a recent significant swing high and swing low and split that range roughly in half.

Defining The Zones
Take a recent significant swing high and swing low and split that range roughly in half. The upper half is the premium zone — where price is relatively high and considered more favorable for looking at sells. The lower half is the discount zone — where price is relatively low and considered more favorable for looking at buys. The midpoint (often called equilibrium) separates the two.
