Thinking In Probabilities, Not Certainties
A 1-minute lesson from the MarketPro academy, one of 20 in trading psychology.
No single trade can be known in advance to win or lose — even a well-researched setup only shifts the odds, it does not guarantee an outcome. Thinking in probabilities means accepting this uncertainty as a permanent feature of trading, rather than a problem to be solved.

What Changes With This Mindset
- A loss on a well-reasoned trade is not automatically treated as a mistake
- A win on a poorly-reasoned trade is not automatically treated as validation
- Decisions are judged by the quality of the reasoning behind them, not by the single outcome that followed
This distinction matters because outcome and process can diverge in the short run purely due to randomness. A sound strategy can still lose money over a small number of trades, and a flawed one can still win by chance.
