A watchlist is simply a curated list of stocks or instruments a trader wants to monitor, often grouped by theme, sector, or strategy. Rather than searching for the same tickers repeatedly, a watchlist keeps relevant quotes, charts, and news in one organized place.

Price Alerts

A price alert is a notification set to trigger when a stock reaches a specified price level, percentage move, or other defined condition. Alerts can help a trader stay informed about relevant price action without needing to watch a screen continuously.

Alerts can be based on a specific price level, a percentage change, or technical conditions such as crossing a moving average, depending on the platform.
Watchlists are often organized by strategy or sector to make it easier to compare related stocks at a glance.
Neither tool executes trades on its own—they simply provide information, leaving the actual trading decision to the individual.

Because alerts and watchlists are purely informational, they do not analyze whether a triggered price level represents a good trading opportunity—that judgment still requires the trader's own research and decision-making process.
