The three drives pattern is an advanced harmonic-style formation consisting of three consecutive pushes to a new high or low, each one typically related to the last by a consistent Fibonacci ratio, suggesting an exhausting trend that may be nearing a turning point. Each "drive" is followed by a corrective pullback, with the retracement between drives often measuring near common Fibonacci ratios such as 61.8% or 78.6%, and the distance of each subsequent drive frequently extending by a similar ratio relative to the prior one.

Three pushes: The pattern requires three successive extremes in the same direction, not just two, distinguishing it from a simple double top or bottom.
Symmetry: Traders working with this pattern look for a degree of proportional symmetry between the drives and their corrective retracements.
Completion signal: The pattern is considered complete once the third drive stalls and price begins to reverse away from it.

Because it depends on precise Fibonacci-based measurements across three separate swings, the three drives pattern is subjective to identify in real time and is generally regarded as one of the more advanced and less frequently reliable pattern types, best used with strict risk controls.
