Double Top Pattern
A 1-minute lesson from the MarketPro academy, one of 22 in chart patterns.
A double top forms when price rallies to a resistance level, pulls back, rallies again to roughly the same level, and then fails a second time, tracing out a shape often described as an "M." The pullback low between the two peaks is called the confirmation point; a decisive break below that level is traditionally viewed as the signal that the pattern has completed and a reversal lower may follow.
